>Retailers are telling us that the game is attaching strongly to new console sales, with roughly 40% of new consoles selling with a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV

I love spinball, don't get me wrong, it's just over there to the left of the series, like Sonic Drift and Fighters. There wasn't much Sonic to it beyond the style and being a blue ball of pain wrecking the shit of some robotnik scorpion thing. :)

You missed out one of my favourites.. Sonic Pinball!

Though there is little of the classic Sonic-esque "Run like buggery!" standard, and only four actual levels/tables, I still invested hours on this on the MegaDrive.

That's pretty nice, might give them some more incentive to work on backwards compatibility and such. My 360's 20 gig hard drive does feel more and more inadequate though.

That I'll definitely give you. If anyone can pull of a casual team based game that has legs, it's Valve.

I would dare say it's the best option for casual gamers. Battlefield and such are super hardcore. Halo does a nice job of appealing to casual and hardcore, but it still takes that competitive mindset and you have to be twitchy.

TF2 has something for everyone. Hell, RTS players can find fun in it as engineers.

The hardcore players still are in CS and still played TFC years later with those super few maps that are really played. "Oh good, another CS_Office round." And the vast majority of BF2 servers seem to focus on that map with the giant construction crane.

If there's one thing I think Valve knows, it's player psychology. Every time I listen to their dev commentary, things are stunningly obvious the way they put them.
